03 Dec GLN Verification Made Easy in DOit
In the world of pharmaceutical distribution and supply chain management, accuracy isn’t just nice to have, it is essential. From product serialization to location identification, every data point matters. That’s why we’re proud to have a powerful feature in DOit ERP: GLN verification directly linked to GS1.
We continue our mission to make compliance effortless and data management smarter for our clients. Let’s take a closer look at how this feature works and why it matters for your business.
Do you know what a GLN is?
A GLN (Global Location Number) is a unique identifier used worldwide to point to a specific physical location, legal entity, or even a particular department within an organization. It’s part of the GS1 standard, widely used in the pharmaceutical industry to facilitate secure and standardized data sharing across the supply chain.
Whether you’re dealing with a supplier, manufacturer, distributor, or pharmacy, verifying the GLN ensures you’re interacting with the right partner at the right location, reducing errors and improving traceability.
Here you can easily find how GLN verification works in DOit:
Navigate to the Contacts module.
Select or create a contact that can be a supplier, customer, or any relevant business partner.
In the Address tab, enter the contact’s GLN number.

Once the GLN is added, it automatically appears in the Access Control section of the contact’s profile.

The system will validate the number and display the status: “GS1”.
A direct link to the official GS1 website is provided when clicking into the GS1 logo, allowing you to cross-check the number and review the full registered details of that location or entity.

This means no more switching between platforms or manually searching for GLNs on third-party sites. DOit does the heavy lifting for you, saving time and eliminating guesswork.
This feature isn’t just about convenience, it’s about compliance, trust, and operational excellence. This new GLN verification tool is just one more way we’re helping our users stay compliant, and avoid errors.
Ready to try it out? Head over to the Contacts module and start verifying GLNs with a single step.
