How to Add Flags in DOit: Highlight What Really Matters

In day-to-day pharmaceutical operations, small details can make a big difference. That’s why Flags in DOit were created, to help teams quickly identify important information during receiving and shipping, ensuring items are handled correctly from start to finish.

Flags act as visual indicators that highlight special instructions, warnings, or notes. They are a fast and effective way to communicate critical messages across your workflow, improving visibility and reducing errors.

Why Use Flags?

Flags help you:

  • Highlight specific conditions or requirements for an item
  • Improve visibility during receiving and shipping processes
  • Ensure consistent handling across teams
  • Quickly communicate important messages without interrupting operations

Once configured, flags make your receivables and shipments easier to understand at a glance.

How Flags Work in DOit

When a flag is applied, it appears directly in the receiving or shipping order.
If you hover your mouse cursor over the flag, a custom message will be displayed, giving users instant context and guidance.

How to Add Flags for Receiving

Setting up flags is simple and intuitive. Follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Purchases module
  2. Open the Setup tab
  3. Navigate to the Flags tab (Note: Access to this tab depends on your user permission level.)

  1. Click the yellow sun icon to create a new flag
  2. Enter a name for your flag
  3. Customize the color to make it easily recognizable
  4. Save your changes

You can create as many flags as needed, depending on your operational requirements.

Using Flags During Receiving

Once your flags are set up:

  • You’ll be able to apply a flag when receiving a purchase
  • The flag will be displayed on the receiving order
  • It will remain visible throughout the entire receiving process, ensuring everyone is aligned

Flags for Shipping

Flags aren’t limited to receiving.
You can also add and use flags for shipping, allowing the same level of visibility and control when orders are leaving your facility.

By using flags effectively, you make your workflow clearer, more intuitive, and more reliable, helping your team focus on what matters most.
